Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy (Washington)

This policy explains how MedAdvise Insurance Group handles “consumer health data” as defined by Washington’s My Health My Data Act. It supplements our Privacy Policy.

Consumer health data we collect

  • Health conditions, treatments, medications, and healthcare providers that you choose to share with us so we can compare Medicare plan options for you.
  • Medicare eligibility information (for example, eligibility based on age or disability).
  • Current or past health coverage details you provide.

We collect only the health information needed to provide the services you request. Our website forms do not require you to disclose health conditions; health details are typically discussed during your consultation.

Sources of consumer health data

We collect consumer health data directly from you — through our website forms, phone calls, text messages, emails, and consultations. We do not purchase consumer health data, and we do not track your health status through cookies or advertising technologies.

Why we collect it (purposes)

  • To compare Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, and Part D plans against your needs (doctors, medications, pharmacies).
  • To assist with applications and enrollment that you request.
  • To provide ongoing plan service and annual reviews.
  • To meet legal and regulatory record-keeping obligations.

Consumer health data we share

We share consumer health data only:

  • With insurance carriers we represent, at your direction, to obtain quotes or process an enrollment you request. The specific carriers depend on the plans you ask us to work with; a current list of the carrier organizations we represent is available on request. [Optionally list appointed carriers here.]
  • With service providers (processors) that operate our systems under contract, such as [scheduling tool], [texting platform], and [CRM/website host].
  • When required by law or regulation.

We do not sell consumer health data. We do not share consumer health data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Your rights under RCW 19.373.040

Washington consumers have the right to:

  • Access the consumer health data we hold about you, including a list of the third parties and affiliates with whom we have shared it.
  • Withdraw consent to our collection or sharing of your consumer health data.
  • Delete your consumer health data.

To exercise these rights, contact Carrie Hagel at (253) 256-1637 or carrie@medadviseinsurance.com. We will respond within the timelines required by law. If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our decision with the word “Appeal”; we will review and respond in writing. If your appeal is denied, you may contact the Washington Attorney General at www.atg.wa.gov/file-complaint.

We collect consumer health data only with your consent or as necessary to provide a service you have requested. Before collecting health details beyond what is needed for the services you request, or before any new category of sharing, we will ask for your consent separately.
